Basketball Lesson Plan - Grade 4

Passing:
  • Chest pass
  • Bounce pass

Game:

4:4 hitting cones, each teams has three cones to defend. One person can go behind the last line to be goalie. Each time a cone got hit the team gets a point.

Materials:

4 sets of 5 pinnies, 10 small cones, 12 medium cones, 9 basketballs, 2 yellow volleyballs.

Passing:

  • in couples
  • distance between students about 4-5 meter
Game:
  • 2 fields, each field is a half of the basketball court
  • teams of 4 students
  • each team plays 3 games, against every other team.
Passing:
  • Hands on the side of the ball
  • Fingers pointing forward
  • Ball is at chest
  • Step (cockroach) and pass
  • Arms and hands point in the direction wherein the ball goes.
Game:
  • Go to positions where you can get the ball, right place, right distance.
  • Make quick passes
  • No walking with ball, only the pivot.
  • One person of a team can be goalie, when the goalie's team has the ball, he/she goes in the field.
  • Normal school rules like no contact, respect, etc.

  1. Monkey in the middle (positions)
  • The person with the ball always has to be able to pass to the left and the right. This means that the other students move to these positions. One student in the middle tries to get the ball
  • 10 passes, then change monkey, when monkey intercepts the ball the person who passed it, is monkey
Rules:
  • no contact
  • walking pivot
  • out
  • points

Game:

3:3 or 3:4 on a half field only passing

Materials:

4 sets of 6 pinnies, 16 small cones, 9 basketballs.

Exercises:

  • passing in couples
  • 3 squares in the basketball court for monkey in the middle.

Game:

  • 3:3 or 3:4. where the 4th person is the joker who helps the team with the ball to make a point.

Exercises:
  • goal is that the person with the ball has the opportunity to pass the ball to two sides.
Game:
  • Go to positions where you can get the ball, right place, right distance. Make quick passes No walking with ball, only the pivot.

  • use BEEF Balance Eyes Elbow

Exercise:
  • shooting passing the ball within the couple while moving to the other side of the court. Shoot when close to basket. Person on the right side shoots on basket and catches the ball
  • Change sides after each run

Game:

3:3 on a half field, with dribbling

Materials:

4 sets of 6 pinnies, 16 small cones, 9 basketballs.

Exercise:

  • shooting
  • shooting in couples
  • passing
  • two lines under the basket on one side of the field
  • next couple starts when couple before them is on one third of the court.

Game:

  • 3:3 or 3:4. 4th person is the joker who is always with the team which has the ball.
Exercise:
  • Catch and pass the ball within the walking rules of basketball. If needed, move slower to have enough time to catch and pass Use BEEF when shooting
  • Choose right distance for shooting and vary a little bit.

  • Combination of dribbling, passing and shooting (assessed)
Games:
  • 3:3 or 4:4 whole field

Materials:

4 sets of 6 pinnies, 16 small cones, 9 basketballs.Exercise:

  • on two fields the same situation.
Exercise:
  • Use all the rules and techniques we have practiced the previous classes.

Tournament
  • 3:3 or 4:4 whole field
  • Teams of 3 or 4 games of 4 minutes
  • each team plays against all the other teams
  • Use all the techniques we have practiced in class
  • Go to positions to where you can receive the ball
