Game:

4:4 on a half field, only passing Each attack starts from the middle. If the other team intercepts the ball they go free to the middle to build up a new attack.

Materials:

12 basketballs, 10 medium cones, 4 sets of 8 pinnies

Warming up:

  • stay in line
Exercise:
  • In couples
  • Distance between students about 4-5 meters
Game:
  • 4:4 on a half field
  • each team plays two games, one game at the side.
Passing:
  • Hands on the side of the ball
  • Fingers pointing forward
  • Ball is at chest
  • Step (cockroach) and pass
  • Arms and hands point in the direction wherein the ball goes.
Shooting:
  • use BEEF
  • Balance
  • Eyes
  • Elbow
  • Flex
Game:
  • Go to positions where you can get the ball, right place, right distance.
  • Make quick passes
  • No walking with ball, only the pivot.
  • Normal school rules like no contact, respect, etc.

Exercise:

Monkey in the middle
Positions:

  • When playing 4:4

Game:

4:4 in a half field only passing Each attack starts from the middle. If the other team intercepts the ball they go free to the middle to build up a new attack.

Materials:

8 basketballs, 10 medium cones, 4 sets of 8 pinnies

Exercise:

  • 3-4 squares with each 3 students and one monkey.
  • Rest of students waits at the side to and will be changed.
Game:
  • Teams of 4
  • 3 teams a field
  • each team plays two games, and sits one game at the side.
Monkey in the middle:
  • Person with the ball has to be able to pass to the left and to the right. If you're diagonal from the person with the ball, you have to move to create more space in the field to get the ball.
Positions:
  • Show how to move to get the ball, relate to the monkey in the middle exercise.
Game:
  • Stay in the positions and move to get the ball.
  • Try to build each attack up from the middle.

Stations:
  1. Dribbling, several exercises with the basketball glasses which prevent looking to the ball.
  2. Shooting, Using the BEEF. After shooting, catch ball and give to the next person in line without a ball.
  3. Lay up, just steps without bounce
Rules:
  • Dribbling

Materials:

15 basketballs, 10 medium cones, 4 sets of 8 pinnies, basketball glasses

Stations:

  • Students are divided in 3 groups, each group working independent in their station.
Game:
  • Teams of 4
  • 3 teams on each field
  • each team plays 2 games, 1 game on the side
Stations:
  1. Dribbling
  • Try no to look to the ball
  • control ball with hand, taking it up and down.
  1. Shooting
  • Use BEEF
  • Shoot from different angles and distances
  1. Lay Up
  • Make the step and lay up.
  • Protect ball during the lay up movement
  • Take ball all the way up before letting it go.
  • Hit the square on the board, is easier as a target.
Game:
  • Only dribble when there is space to dribble. Pass to teammate when being in front of a defender.

Warming up:

Passing the ball within the couple while moving forward to the other side of the court. Change sides when at the end and go back on the outside.

Rules (repeat):

  • walk
  • dribble
  • out
  • points
  • back to own half
  • no contact

Exercise (assessed):
  • passing and dribbling while moving forward in a 3:2 situation. Pass defenders and make point
Games: 4:4 whole field

Materials:

5 basketballs, 10 medium cones, 4 sets of 8 pinnies

Warming up:

  • distance between students 3-6 meters, depending on the level of the students
Exercise:
  • Distance between students 3-4 meters
  • Students are using the whole width of the field.
  • Defenders are half way the court
Game:
  • Teams of 4
  • Play Schedule is on the white board
Warming up:
  • Use walking rule, catch and pass within the two steps.
  • Use different kinds of passes
  • start slowly focusing on the catching and passing.
Exercise:
  • Try to pass the defenders while passing.
  • Defenders stay in the middle, once they are passed they are passed and the next run starts.
  • Person on the right makes the lay up
  • Change rows after each run, moving one lane to the left.
