Soccer Lesson Plan - Grade 5

Assessing
Goals
  • 50% Participation
  • 25% Technical Skills
  • 25% Playing Skills
  • Controlling the ball after receiving a pass
  • Receive passes on ground level till waist high on both sides (left and right)
  • Boys should be able to receive the ball on the chest and control.
  • Being able to receive an give passes while in movement
  • Receive and shoot on the goal when the ball is coming from the side or from a corner.

Warming up:
  • making passes in couple moving forward towards the other side of the field
  • Change sides when coming back
Skills:
  • throw soft the ball on different heights, other students receives and controls the ball and passes back. Change after 5 throw
  • Throw soft the ball, receive, control and try to pass the other person while keeping control of the ball. Change after each throw (keep points of passing and blocking the ball)
Game:
  • 5:5/ 6:6 big field

Materials:

12 no. 4 soccer balls, 3 sets pinnies, 4 small cones

Warming up:

Two lines of students, 4-5 meters distance between them

Skills:

Work in couples, distance between students should be about 4-5 meters

Warming up
  • passes with inside foot
  • Pass to where the person is going to be
Skills:
  • Stop ball with inside foot or with body
  • Keep the ball in control and than pass back
  • Move to get a better position to receive the ball.

Warming up:
  • making passes in couple moving forward towards the other side of the field. The persons who start on the right side finish shooting on the goal
  • Change sides when coming back
Skills:
  • Throw soft the ball, control and receive and pass back. Change after 5 throws
  • If possible, pass the ball high and softly back and the other student receives, controls and passes.
Game:
  • 5:5/ 6:6 big field

Materials:

12 no. 4 soccer balls, 3 sets of pinnies, 4 small cones

Warming up:

Two lines of students, 4-5 meters distance between them

Skills:

work in couples, distance between students should be about 4-5 meters

  • Passes from the side/ corners. A ball is passed from the side, receive and shoot on the goal. Or if possible, shoot in once (or head, chilena, etc.).

  • There will be 6 goals to practice on, 4 made of cones and the two soccer goals.
Skills:
  • Throw or soft passes from the side
  • Stop and shoot in a fluent movement, or
  • Shoot in once on the the goal
  • Use head on higher balls

  • Making goals out of passes from the side or corners

Game:

5:5 on the big field

Materials:

12 no. 4 soccer balls, 3 sets of pinnies, 12 small cones

Skills:

  • Students are put in groups according the order of the class list. Groups of 4 students
  • There will be 6 goals to practice on, 4 made of cones and the two soccer goals.

5:5 big field
Win: 3 points
Even: 1 point
Lose: 0 points

Teams with most points wins.
