Soccer Lesson Plan - Grade 3

Assessing
Goals
  • 50% Participation
  • 25% Technical Skills
  • 25% Playing Skills
  • Dribble with inside and outside foot (slow pace)
  • Stopping and controlling passes (from min. 7 meters distance) with inside foot
  • Pass in direction with inside foot over a distance of min. 7 meters
  • Know and apply school soccer rules in drills and games
  • Know the different positions in the soccer field
  • Play together in a team passing to team mates.

Skills:
  • Passing

Games:2 fields, 4 or 5 teams
Rules:
  • basic soccer rules, out, corner, fouls.
  • Goal only counts when it's lower than the waist
  • Goalie only throws the ball out.

Materials:8 soccer balls no. 4, 20 ism. Cones, 8 medium cones, 5 sets of 5 pinnies

Skills:

  • In groups of 3 or 4 students
  • distance is about 7 meters
Games:2 fields, teams of 4 or 5 students
Skills:
  • pass and stop with inside foot
  • when passing, the foot of the standing leg is next to the ball pointing into the direction where the ball has to go to.
  • When dribbling, keep ball close to the body to have control.
  • When dribbling, use inside and outside
Games:
  • use skills just practiced
  • everybody plays in every position

Warming up:
  • passing, run after pass to the other side. (pass over 6 meters)
Skills:
  • receiving and controlling thrown ball. Receive ball knee and waist high. Receive, control and pass back.

Games:2 fields, 4:4/ 5:5

Materials:12 soccer balls no. 4, 6 softer soccer balls, 20 sm. Cones, 8 medium cones, 5 sets of 5 pinnies

Warming up:

  • groups of 4 students
Skills:
  • in couples on a open place on the field
  • depend distance between the students on their level, close by or further away.
Games:
  • 2 fields, teams of 4-5 students
Skills:
  • when stopping with foot, keep foot loose and stop with inside.
  • first control ball, then pass back
  • throw the ball soft so receiving won't hurt the player.
Games:
  • use skills just practiced
  • everybody plays in every position
  • Go to an open place to receive the ball. Not to far, not to close from the player with the ball.

Skills:
  • dribble till cone, then turn around and control ball going backwards till next cone. Go around cone and dribble back to the line.
Games:2 fields, 4:4/ 5:5

Materials:6 soccer balls no. 4, 20 sm. Cones, 8 medium cones, 5 sets of 5 pinnies

Skills:

  • groups of 4 students
Games:
  • 2 fields, teams of 4-5 students
Skills:
  • Keep ball under foot when controlling it.
Games:
  • use skills just practiced
  • everybody plays in every position

  • relate the monkey in the middle to the positions in the field when playing.

  • start in 2 lines

Skills:
  • pass to where the player is going to be, not where the player is.
  • Distance between players and speed depends on the level of the students. Minimal 5 meters
Games:
  • try to stay in positions
  • everybody plays in every position
  • positions help to keep the players spread out over the field and to pass the ball around

Materials:6 soccer balls no. 4, 10 medium cones, 4 sets of 6 pinnies

Tournament organization.

  • Winner gets 3 points
  • even 1 point
  • Loose 0 points
  • count goals
  • Schedule is on the white board
  • change quick after each game to have more time to play.
